A PowerPoint presentation followed by the AGM of the Society
The Chairman welcomed everyone to the first meeting of the year.
Two dates for our diaries were announced, Thursday 17th May 2018 an outing with Brian Draper.
The second outing is to Hagley Hall on Thursday 28th June, which ties in with our speaker for next month; Mr. Julian Hunt speaking on “The Lyttleton Family of Hagley Hall”
Everyone was asked to make a note of the Coffee Morning on Friday December 1st Tickets on sale £1.
DR. Christine Whittaker advised people that Wythall was hoping to become dementia friendly and two events were taking place. There would be an Open Meeting at The Hub in Shawhurst Lane on 19th October at 2.p.m. and also careers were invited to a meeting at the Village Hall 10.30.-1p.m. starting Tuesday 3rd October.
Mrs Nash then introduced our own Mike Fisher who took us, via slides, along the Bristol Road from Birmingham to the Lickeys.
The A.G.M. commenced at 9.15.p.m.
The usual business of Chairman’s, Secretary and Treasurers reports passed smoothly.
The committee were re-elected en bloc and Mr Paul Astle was co-opted on to the committee.
Paul and the sub committee have produced a booklet on the young men of Wythall who gave their lives inWW1.
The book highlights where the men had lived in Wythall along with details of their families as well as their Regiments and where they were killed. Copies are available from any committee member cost £4.
