PowerPoint presentation followed by the AGM of the Society
This was the first meeting of the new year presided over by the Chairperson Mrs Barbara Nash, who introduced the speaker for the evening; our own Mr. Mike Fisher who had prepared a Power Point Presentation.
The members were then taken on an “ALPHABETIC” journey around Worcestershire. Mike roved around the county from Alvechurch, Barnt Green, Cofton Hacket etc. through to the Littletons and finally ending up in Wythall. Many of the pictures he showed were of well known places but there were some “we must visit” quaint Churches which inspired several members to promise themselves a ride out into the countryside.
At 9.20.p.m, after tea, the A.G.M. took place. The Chairperson’s report together with those of the Secretary and Treasurer were adopted and seconded. Kate Smith gave an account of the work done by the War Research subcommittee on the background to all the men from Wythall who were killed in WW1. Special thanks were given to Mr Paul Astle who is in the process of producing a book on this subject which will be published in the near future.
All the committee indicated that they were willing to serve again. There being no further nominations from the floor, the existing committee were elected en bloc.
Mrs Nash thanked all the members who had attended and the meeting closed at 9.45p.m.
