With gift and book stalls.
Britannia Room, Wythall House 10.00am – 12.00 noon.
This year there had been a large number of requests for Trade Stalls, 12 of them from folk who have in the past traditionally supported this annual event, we therefore managed to arrange the room to accommodate an extra two tables making 14 tables in all.
This year the weather was quite good and although, as usual, it seemed as if we might not be getting the patronage we had enjoyed in previous years, the visitor numbers picked up within half an hour of opening and business also improved for the stall holders. Perhaps it is the free mince pie and coffee which is included in the admission ticket price which brings in the customers who then seem to enjoy the Festive atmosphere and all of the interesting gifts and products available on the stallholder’s tables. The second Hand book stall did not do quite as well as last year but the Society Raffle did exceptionally well and the feedback from the trade stallholders indicated they too had enjoyed good sales and “could they come next year”.
All in all the Society enjoyed an interesting, profitable and social event which, despite the hard work involved in organising and running the event, at the end of the day had raised funds which will be used to enable us to enjoy many good speakers at our meetings during the next twelve months.
