Powerpoint presentation followed by the AGM.
The September meeting of the Wythall History Society, which includes the Annual General Meeting and election of Officers and Committee, traditionally starts with a PowerPoint presentation of some of the old and more obscure photographs and postcards which have been acquired or presented to the Society over a number of years. These items are now archived on computer by committee member Mr Mike Fisher who produces the show. The object of the show is to obtain information from members of the audience on where or when the some of these pictures were taken and in many cases who the people are in the pictures. During the refreshment interval after Mike’s presentation there is much informal discussion on many of the pictures. These shows generate a large amount of interest and provide a wealth of information for the Society’s records.
Following the interval the formal business of the Annual General Meeting took place. The Chairman’s, Treasurer’s and other Reports had been printed and handed out prior to commencement of the meeting and after discussion were adopted. All existing officers and committee members had signified their willingness to continue in office for another year and were duly elected. A particular vote of thanks was proposed to our Chairman, Mrs Barbara Nash and the other members of the committee for all the hard work they put in. It was put to the meeting and unanimously carried. There was no other business for discussion and the meeting was closed.
