Title:
Mince Pie & Coffee Morning

With gift and book stalls. Britannia Room, Wythall House 10:00am - 12:00 noon.

Review:

The annual "Mince Pie and Coffee" morning, a Society fund raising event, took place on the 2nd December 2011 in the Britannia Room of Wythall House, Silver Street, Wythall and, as usual, this event attracted twelve Craft tables and two Society tables. Unlike last year the weather this year was fine which resulted in an exceptionally good turnout. The holders of the Craft tables, which varied from knitwear through to elaborate hand- made jewellery to homemade marmalade and preserves, all reported exceptionally good sales. The Society Raffle once again was very well supported and made £120 whilst the Society's Second Hand Book Stall received many donations of exceptionally interesting books, so many in fact that at the end of the event dozens of unsold books were donated, by the Society, to the Boys Brigade fund raising organisation. Another gratifying effect of this year's good weather was that people attending remained to the end of event when the raffle was drawn. The event resulted in a net profit of £348 for the Society's funds.
