Ghosts, Murders and Scandals
Anne Bradford

A Talk with Slides

Redditch Authoress Anne Bradford visited Wythall History Society on the 25th November to talk about her research into the many unexplained paranormal incidents centred in and around our area.

Anne commenced her talk with an introduction to her background and what eventually led her into journalism and in particular into Ghost Stories. It transpired that she started her working life as a Secretary but at the age of 35 she went into Teaching. She taught English for a number of years before eventually embarking upon a writing career. During her life she has accumulated around 1500 ghost stories and has now produced a number of books on the subject.

Anne's style of presentation is very informal and she obviously thoroughly enjoys recounting the many unexplained sightings and happenings around the area, some at places we know well. The Arrow Mill, The Barley Mow in Studley and it's phantom waiter, and Lord Mouhn of Moons Moat in Redditch and of course George Plantagenet Duke of Clarence, with his Warwick connections, who Shakespeare tells us, was drowned in a Butt of Malmsey wine.

Anne obviously enjoys recounting these stories to a live audience as well as writing about them.
